The Bolton Community
Education Foundation has presented a check for $500 to the
Bolton Center School Art Department that was combined with
other donations so that the school could purchase a new ceramics
kiln. In the top photo, from left, are former Foundation member Donna
Peterson, who managed grant requests; BCS art teacher Lisa
Argenta; and Beth Harney, Foundation chair.
The Foundation also presented
a check for $1,135 to the
Bolton High School Art Department so that the school could purchase a new
ceramics kiln.
In bottom photo, from left, are Foundation member Ruth Treat, art
teacher Karen Frechette, Foundation member Lee Williamson, and art
student David Virone, at a school-wide assembly at which the donation was
accepted.
The Bolton Women’s Club previously
donated $1,000 toward the kiln, but funds were not available in the school
budget to cover the balance of the purchase.
Others in town who
have ideas for educational programs or ventures are encouraged to submit a
grant application to the Bolton Community Education Foundation. A grant
form is available on this website -- click
