The Bolton Community Education Foundation (BCEF) welcomes new members to its Board of Directors. The Board meets monthly, on the third Monday of each month. Click here for a listing of current Board members. 

Board Members' Purpose:

• To raise funds to finance the Foundation and its programs
• To determine appropriate policies, procedures, and regulations for the Foundation
• To monitor organizational performance
• To promote excellence in education through community networking and awareness

Board Members' Term:

• A member's term is one to three years. 

Board Members' Commitment:

• Monthly Board meeting (generally about an hour and a half)
• Any committee meetings (varies per month)
• Ad hoc committees as needed
• Special events as needed

Board Members are Responsible to:

• The Chairperson (or Co-Chairpersons) of the Board

Board Members' Resignation:

• Resignation from the Board to be submitted in writing to the Secretary of the Board

Board Members' Responsibilities and Powers are:

• To secure funds required for current expenses by mobilizing volunteers for active participation in funding efforts
• To establish policies for administering the programs and services which are in harmony with the mission of the BCEF
• To ensure that the financial affairs of the BCEF are conducted in a responsible way
• To promote excellence in education for the community of Bolton, Connecticut

Specific Duties are:

• To attend Board meetings regularly and on time
• To become well informed on all agenda items
• To contribute knowledge and express points of view, make constructive suggestions, and help the Board make group decisions reflecting the thinking of the total group
• To attend and participate at meetings of committees for which you volunteer
• To be well informed about the BCEF policies, programs, and projects
• To represent the BCEF in the community and to appropriate individuals
• To speak about the BCEF in a knowledgeable, proud, and positive way
